Pushing the rock uphill...WAY uphill!

Two major grant deadlines are zooming toward us like nobody's business! These are 300-500 page program project grants, and while we've done these before, we've never tried to do two simultaneously. This is generally no problem for the leading academic institutions, with hundreds of researchers and support staff, along with bottomless resources. However, this is a tall task for a small, community-based organization with just two investigator-caliber researchers, and about 8 support staff. Nonetheless, we've been proving naysayers wrong since our beginning, and I'm confident that we'll be ready with excellent, competitive proposals for these two funding requests.

In the meantime, the snow just keeps falling here in the Black Hills of South Dakota. We've had no fewer than three major blizzards in the past three weeks, and I awoke this morning to three more inches of wet, heavy snow. This is the snowiest spring that nearly anyone can remember, which bodes well for a lush, green spring and early summer! The Hills are beautiful all the time, but especially when everything is lush and green.
